2. INTRODUCTION

Welcome to the SINFONIA user guide. This document is designed to assist you in browsing the SINFONIA project repository, henceforth repository, in a simple way. The main objective of the SINFONIA project is to develop a functional and operative repository to collect and pool data from imaging and non-imaging examinations and radiation therapy sessions, so we all must be very careful and responsible with this sensitive information. The SINFONIA team reminds the users that before uploading any patient data, they have to de-identify it. The user must remember that medical data require a strong degree of protection, in fact, data cannot be shared or spread outside the scope of this project, under any circumstances. The European and member states’ regulations on data protection obligate the repository to ensure the anonymization or removal of personally identifiable information. Due to the sensitivity of electronic health data, as those included in this repository, the EU is currently working on a new regulation to set up the European Health Data Space. You can consult it in this page . This new proposal reinforces the personal and health data protection as well as penalties in case of no fulfilment.
